There is no puzzle this month.... APRIL FOOLS! This month is actually a challenge! As such, we will award the person who best met the challenge. (This means this month is not a random drawing!)
What is the award? ...A FREE Convert T-shirt! (Rules of the contest are toward the bottom of the page.)
I spoke to my friend Sam the other day about GenCon, unfortunately finding out that he won't be going this year. The reason is .. Drumroll .. He's going to be a dad! *Trumpets* I wanted to honour this fine gent this month, in a way that everyone can enjoy, by dedicating the Convert Puzzle to him:
Here is Sam Waller (standing) of Slugfest Games, with the 11-level scoring piece!
That is correct. Sam holds the record for the tallest scoring piece ever played, and from what I see, there are still pieces left over... Can you go higher than 11 levels? There is a catch: pieces must be played to the board using the standard gameplay rules:
- Alternate playing white and black pieces.
- No spaces or gaps underneath pieces.
- No sideways pieces (for the smarty-pants out there looking for loopholes)
The person who scores at the highest level (past level 11) amongst all entries will be this month's winner!
If you don't have a copy of Convert, you can get it here, and follow along with the rest of the puzzles throughout the year!
The rules of the contest are simple: (Both must be completed to be eligible.)
Note: This month is not a random drawing. The winner will be the person who scored a row at the highest level. Tie-breaker will go to the person with the most leftover pieces. Further tie-breakers will be done by random drawing.
1. Use the wooden blocks from our game Convert to complete the puzzle, then E-mail us a picture of your completion at firstname.lastname@example.org with the word "Contest" in the subject line.
2. Share this contest through facebook, twitter, pinterest or google+.
There will only be one winner each month. Each Convert contest starts on the 1st of each month, and will run until the 14th of that month. E-mail Addresses will not be distributed, and the email you provide upon completion of the puzzle will be the email address that the notifications of winnings will be sent to.
ALSO! While it doesn't effect the outcome of the drawings, the sillier the picture the better! We had some great pictures so far, and will love to have an "End of the Year" news post to share with all of you!
